Financial Advisors play a pivotal role in their business owner clients’ transition process. Holistic transition planning for business owners takes a multidisciplinary team and financial advisors can be powerful advocates and team leaders.

A value advisor helps an owner build enterprise value to cover the gap between an owner’s needs in retirement or post-transition and what can be harvested from a transition of their business, internally or externally A strong link between the Financial Advisor and the Value Advisor is crucial for a successful transition since holistic planning will drive strategy and the owner’s decisions. Understanding value potential informs financial planning requirements, and vice versa. The two are inseparable.

Sean Hutchinson, a founding partner of leading international value advisory firm Ready for Next and a veteran Certified Exit Planning Advisor, will facilitate a collaborative workshop covering the pillars of value acceleration and a real-life case study illustrating the complexities of transition design for a $120 million, third generation family-owned industrial company. Participating advisors, working in groups, will build and share possible transition plans. Ultimately, RFN’s actual plan design will be revealed.
